MEG’s proposed 11 km, single circuit 260 kV transmission line at Christina Lake is to be installed in a corridor with several MEG-owned oil & gas pipelines. A pipeline interference study was completed to assess temporary and long term effects of power line induced voltages on nearby pipelines. Investigation of various mitigation methods was also completed.
CANA High Voltage developed a CDEGS model and completed a pipeline interference study for the proposed 260 kV transmission line. Engineering efforts included calculations, modelling, and interpretation of results and preparation of a formal report with mitigation alternatives.
