Located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, the 2.5 km rebuild of the 138 kV transmission line was due to a highway widening in the Fort Saskatchewan area. Single wood pole design and construction was used. The transmission circuit supported three phase and single phase distribution under-build complete with several distribution taps. The line was designed and constructed in two months due to an aggressive highway construction schedule.
CANA High Voltage (CHV) undertook all transmission line design activities on the project and was responsible for line layout, structure design, foundation and anchor designs, material specification, survey package preparation and construction package preparation. All engineering drawings and specifications were developed by CHV technical and drafting staff.
